Winter Camp

Went for OCF WA's Winter camp last week, which was a wonderful time of getting to know the people there on a more personal level, as well as better understanding the dynamics of OCF there. During the camp, there was very open and honest sharing... which I savoured because it's such a rare and precious experience nowadays.

We delved into developing the Fruits of the spirit... And went deeper into Jeremiah 17 : 7, which incidentally is one of my 'life verses' (verses that I hold close to heart) :
'But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water, that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; it's leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.' - Jeremiah 17 : 7

What a picture of steadfastness, peace, security, and hope. I'd long for that in my life... :)

And what's a camp without pictures?

The place was so luxurious, they even provided towels, soap, electric blankets, and bathroom heaters

And a fishing pond for avid fishermen. No one caught any fish there though...

There were 4 Grace 's at the camp... 3 of us in this pic.

My group, the Peaceful ones :)

And no camp is complete without the food... hee hee.

Sunrise over the hills...

And sunset over the horizon...

And a waterfall, which reminded me of something GaryT once said.

Water flows.
If water only flows in, and not out, it gets stagnant and stale, just like the dead sea.
If water only flows out, and not in, the land dries up.
There needs to be an inflow and outflow, a giving and receiving. Water needs to flow to refresh.

Throughout this camp, there's been inflowing and outflowing... of more things than one. It's refreshed me... but it's also triggered something...

Something is stirring deep within me... it's strange, I can't quite describe it...

There's much to think about...

hello grace, that is one of my favourite verses too. isn't that a great comforting verse. i like the way you write. btw, although we're the 'sun-setter' people, i do think that the photo of the sunrise is beautiful. :) i'm glad you had a good time at perth. do continue to exemplify God's grace to people around you. God bless you.

THe one deterrent that keeps me from camps is the bed. The bugs too. But THAT is an exemplary camp bed! Ok ler...i know....cost-cutting...sigh...at least we don't have to sleep in five star hotel where we sleep under the stars! ok...lame joke...

Gracey, my 'twin' :) Yeah, I still remember our conversation on sunrises and sunsets. May you continue to be a blessing to those around you too :)

KongYyYyY :) You should see the place in real life, it's more awe-inspiring and beautiful :)

Jan, yeah, the beds make it feel like it was a hotel... :) Place was not that expensive, actually, just one of the OCFer's friend's. Ah, connections... ;) Should get someone to be good friends with one of the bosses from the Hilton or something ;) Hee hee. And there's always the 'five star' hotels under the stars (BYO blanket and heater and bed... :)
