After working and running around flat-out for the past 2-3 weeks (to make up for the time away :) I'm finally on a short break, and back home in sunny / showery Singapore :)
Just a few quick updates before we run off again for our family vacation :)
Flew on 2 different budget airlines from Adelaide to Singapore (via Darwin), and although the flights themselves weren't too bad, I probably wouldn't recommend long-distance travel on a budget airline.
One of the passengers had a child who was crying and bawling for 3.5 hours. Non.Stop. Chinese would call that 'chang(2)-qi(4)' [longwinded], I call it strong and powerful lungs, heh. Also drank a $3 cup of 3-in-1 milo (seriously, they opened the 3-in-1 packet in front of me, placed it in the cup, and added hot water. Then charged me $3 for it. Couldn't help but smile in bemusement).
And as always, the moment you step off the plane, and feel the whiff of warm humid air, you know... you're back on Singapore soil, and back in Singapore air :) Went out for breakfast, then collapsed in bed, and concussed for the rest of the day. Then met up with extended family for dinner.
Have been meeting up and eating out everyday, and eaten so much food it's quite horrifying on hindsight :) But what's a trip home without enjoying the food? Heh.
Then, yesterday, we visited Jer's workplace for a meal. She's working part time in The Marmalade Pantry at Palais Renaissance. Met her much-talked-about colleagues, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was good, her colleagues were friendly and great, and they kept sneaking peeks at us... haha, which was actually rather amusing. Among the 4 of us, we had... a crab caesar salad, breads with 4 different dips, juice, salmon linguini, chicken pot pie, roast pork, salmon teriyaki and soba, sticky date pudding, chocolate cheesecake, chocolate brownie, and tea. We ate so much till we were soooo full. But the food was really good, and I heartily recommend it :) Their oreo cheesecake is really yummy too. And now, it's time to go off and pack again! :)
The people in my life to whom this blog is dedicated :
(1) Friends and Family: Hopefully, although some of us are lands apart, we can still keep in touch, and can still be updated with what goes on in our lives :)
(2) Myself: Now that I've got a little space to pen my thoughts, maybe I'll start muttering to myself a little less often... :)
